From far away the Grote of St.-Bavokerk can be seen. Its wooden tower, covered with lead, reaches 78 meter into the sky. This late medieval cross-basilica is one of the largest in The Netherlands. Unique in its interior are its wonderful wooden ceiling, its famous Müller Organ, its rood-screen, its many stained windows and its 400 gravestones, including that of Frans Hals.
The tower and the Müller Organ are property of the City of Haarlem.
